"Great stop in Bastrop for family run (since 1982) Q! Healthy portions, great flashers and small town friendly service and vibe. Brisket tender with nice bark; pork ribs perfectly tender fall-off-the-bone without being mushy; house-made sausage is excellent (better'n any in Elgin!). Nice mustardy potato salad and well-seasoned pintos! Very reasonable prices! Great to sit and enjoy, plus eavesdrop on local news and going's on."

"Small and cozy place to grab lunch. I had the meaty baked potato and it was very filling and delicious. My son had the 2 meat plate with chicken, brisket and mac n cheese. His favorite was the brisket but still enjoyed all of it."

- Melanie R.

"Billy's is a local barbecue place, nothing fancy, but good meats. The sides were average, and I wish that the chopped beef was a little bit less salty. The barbecue sauces were good and this is a place frequent by locals, as just about everybody inside, seem to know each other."

- Steve T.

"This place is probably the best bbq in this town heck its better than the bbq in Lockhart the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star was the blonde young lady behind the counter. Like always I walked up they asked what would I like i said chopped brisket with sliced sausage. She looked at me and said we don't make it that way it only comes sliced brisket. I responded no yall make it with chopped also she said no we don't then proceed to tell me how much brisket is a pound like i cant afford to have it made the way I asked. Well the other girl that always well not always but has made my sandwich before made it the way I wanted so I looked at the blonde girl and said see it can be made. I just found her to be rude telling me that I cant have it the way I like it and that's not the way its made. Other than that this place is amazing as always"

"Tried a variety of meats and sides and minus the greens beans, everything was so good. I spoke with one of the owners and she gave me a little background on the restaurant. She was very sweet. I'll definitely be recommending this place to my friends!"

- Joshua L.

"I give it 5 stars but it should be less. For r years it was better than any other place in town and still is from time to time. They need to get back to what it was. Last couple of years it has been hit or miss. Service has always been spot on. The food has been the problem. The sausage used to be world class. Moist and flavorful with a firm and slightly crisp casing. Lately it has been oily and dry. Instead of leaving it whole the cut it and it begins to dry out. Resting in oil in pans on steam table. Brisket is the same way. Too much grease and oil. Billy's, please get back to your usual excellence."
